U.S. Chamber urges Colorado Supreme Court to grant review

December 18, 2015

In its brief, the U.S. Chamber urged the Colorado Supreme Court to grant review of a lower court decision that erroneously expanded general jurisdiction in violation of due process limitations set forth in the U.S. Supreme Court’s Daimler v. Bauman decision.

The Chamber's brief argued that allowing general jurisdiction on the basis of an out-of-state company’s compliance with a local business registration statute would deter non-Colorado companies from doing business in Colorado, and would risk clogging Colorado courts with cases that have no connection to the state.

Daniel D. Domenico of Kittredge LLC and Michael Francisco of MRDLaw served as counsel for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on behalf of the U.S. Chamber Litigation Center.
