Forum Shopping

The Litigation Center actively works to advance legal principles that prevent forum shopping and other improper maneuvers by plaintiffs’ counsel that undermine the stability and predictability of the U.S. legal system. The Litigation Center has filed dozens of briefs on issues of personal jurisdiction and venue, has been a regular filer in cases concerning the jurisdictional reach of the Alien Tort Statute and other laws, and actively argues for appropriate limits on the extraterritorial application of state and federal law.
