The Litigation Center has taken a leading role in tax cases with potentially broad implications for the business community.  Our briefs aim to promote a less burdensome and more predictable system.  For example, the Litigation Center has supported efforts by states to oppose the federal government’s unconstitutional attempt to preclude states from lowering net taxes.  The Chamber has also led the way, through party litigation and amicus briefs, in fighting unconstitutional attempts by some states and localities to impose targeted, discriminatory taxes on specific companies and industries.
